Eurenco to supply MBDA with warhead explosives

MASSY, France, Oct. 20 (UPI) — French explosives company Eurenco is to supply the explosive fillings for an anti-ship missile being developed by MBDA for France and Britain.

Under the MBDA contract, Eurenco will fill the missile warheads with its new insensitive explosive composition, which is based on its I-RDX product.

The work will be conducted at its facility in Sorgues, France.

Additional details of the insensitive explosive compound and the contract, however, were not disclosed.

The MBDA anti-ship missile is called the Sea Venom in Britain and the Anti-Navire Leger in France.

Eurenco, which maintains production facilities in France, Belgium and Sweden, describes itself as a leading European maker of energetic materials for the defense, security and civil markets.
