LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) — Eye Candy has been canceled at MTV.
Lead actress Victoria Justice announced the news in a lengthy post Saturday on Twitter, writing, “I wanted you guys to hear it from me first, that the cast and I received news that Eye Candy will not be returning for season 2.”
“Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson, is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart,” she related. “Thank you to the amazing fans … It’s because of all of you that I get to do what I love.”
Eye Candy premiered in January, and is based on the R. L. Stine novel of the same name. The thriller series follows tech genius Lindy Sampson (Justice) as she pursues a cyber stalker serial killer and searches for her kidnapped sister. Casey Deidrick and Kiersey Clemons also star.
Justice is known for playing Lola Martinez on Nickelodeon series Zoey 101 and Tori Vega on Victorious. The actress is also a recording artist who released several singles for Victorious, and will debut her first studio album, SHAKE!, in 2015.
