Fantasy Football: Stefon Diggs returns to Minnesota Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 23 (UPI) — You still should use caution when inserting him into your Week 16 fantasy football lineup, but Stefon Diggs will likely be available on Christmas Eve.

The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver practiced on a limited basis Thursday, before being upgraded to a full participant Friday, and is on the WR3 radar for his 1 p.m. road test against the Green Bay Packers.

Diggs has struggled lately, while catching passes from Sam Bradford. The 23-year-old speedster hasn’t eclipsed 100 receiving yards in a game since Week 10 and hasn’t scored since Week 8.

If you have better options, think about benching Diggs. Despite his ability to catch fire, he isn’t seeing enough quality looks to be counted on. Diggs has 874 yards and two touchdowns on 80 receptions this season. On the flip-side, Diggs erupted for 182 yards and a touchdown the last time the Vikings and Packers met, on September 18 in Minnesota.

Earlier this week, Chris Tomasson reported that Diggs was in the concussion protocol. Later it was updated that Diggs had a hip injury and not a concussion. Diggs adds the injury to the list of other lower body ailments he has suffered this season, including knee and groin injuries.

He is currently listed as questionable for the contest. If he is declared inactive on game day, tight end Kyle Rudolph will see the biggest bump in targets of any Vikings pass-catcher. Diggs, who is still playing on his rookie deal, is due $525,000 this year and $615,000 in 2017 as part of the $2.5 million pact.
