Fantasy Football: Week 10 Add/Drops for Waiver Wire Wednesday

Fantasy Football: Week 10 Add/Drops for Waiver Wire Wednesday
UPI

MIAMI, Nov. 8 (UPI) — Andrew Luck, Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford, LeSean McCoy, Amari Cooper, and Michael Crabtree are among players in need of replacements this week.

Fantasy football aficionados are actually cut a break in Week 10, after 12 teams had bye weeks over the last two weekends. But if you own players from the Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders, and Buffalo Bills, you still need to find adequate fill-ins at key positions. A week 10 victory could keep you in the playoff hunt, or have you playing catch-up down the stretch. If you have space on your bench and don’t need to replace anyone in your lineup, it’s still worth looking at players who might have been dropped due to lack of roster space on your opponents’ rosters.

Here are my top players to add and top players to drop for Week 10.

ALL-ADD TEAM

QB | Marcus Mariota, Jay Cutler; RB | James Starks, Chris Ivory, Kapri Bibbs, Dion Lewis, Paul Perkins; WR | Rishard Matthews, J.J. Nelson, Corey Coleman, Sammie Coates, Marqise Lee; TE | Lance Kendricks; D/ST | Baltimore Ravens; K | Will Lutz

HONORABLE MENTIONS

QB | Joe Flacco; RB | Peyton Barber, Bilal Powell, Chris Thompson, DuJuan Harris; WR | Cameron Meredith, Brian Quick, Chris Hogan, Taylor Gabriel; TE | C.J. Fiedorowicz, Charles Clay; D/ST | Los Angeles Rams

TOP DROPS

QB | Alex Smith; RB | Ryan Mathews, Jerick McKinnon, Rashad Jennings, Charcandrick West, Duke Johnson; WR | Travis Benjamin, Quincy Enunwa; TE | Julius Thomas, Jack Doyle

QUARTERBACK

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is quietyly putting together a great stretch in fantasy football scoring. In Week 9 against the San Diego Chargers, Mariota passed for 313 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for another score. In fact, Mariota has passed for multiple scores in five consecutive games. He has passed for three touchdowns in three of those five contests. Expect Mariota to come out throwing again in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers. He should be an adequate spot-starter if you are weak at quarterback with upcoming matchups against the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler looked refreshed in arguably his toughest matchup of the season in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. Cutler passed for 252 yards and threw one score. I expect him to come out of the Bears’ bye week ready to sling the football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is a low-end streaming option for Luck, Carr, and Stafford owners.

RUNNING BACK

Packers running back James Starks has been benched since Week 5 with a knee injury. With the Packers’ backfield not performing in the absence of Eddie Lacy, I expect Starks to return to a huge role behind Aaron Rodgers. If Starks suits up agains the Tennessee Titans this week, I expect RB2 production. Although his playoff schedule isn’t stellar, Starks is definitely worth a pickup in all leagues. His presence on your bench can provide both depth and upside.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory showed off what he is capable of last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. His performance of 107 yards on 18 carries was easily his best showing of the season. Ivory has a decent schedule down the stretch and you should snatch him up if an impatient owner in your league cut him loose.

WIDE RECEIVER

Rishard Matthews’ monster showing last week against the Chargers sent his stock soaring high for fantasy football team owners looking for wide receiver depth. The Titans pass-catcher had 63 yards and two touchdowns on six catches last week. While I don’t expect the touchdown rate to continue, Matthews is worth a pick-up as a fill-in option this week against the Packers. Matthews is looking like one of Mariota’s favorite targets in the red zone. He has scored five times in his last five games. I expect WR3 numbers this week.

Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee led the team with 84 yards in its Week 9 loss to the Chiefs. He could be a WR3 option in deeper leagues this week, but is closer to a WR4 in most leagues while battling the Houston Texans.

TIGHT END

Lance Kendricks had a season-high 90 yards on 12 targets last Sunday for the Los Angeles Rams. He is a nice streaming option or bye week replacement in Week 10 against the New York Jets. Kendricks has seven receptions in each of his last two games.
