First photos of ‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ released

NEW YORK, Sept. 17 (UPI) — Netflix and Marvel Studios have released the first official images from the upcoming superhero drama, Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Based on the comic book series Alias by Brain Michael Bendis, the new show follows Jessica Jones, played by Breaking Bad’s Krysten Ritter, who after a tragic ending to her short-lived superhero stint, is rebuilding her personal life and career as a New York City detective.

The new photos show Ritter in action as the titular character along with first looks at fellow superhero Luke Cage played by Mike Colter, the villainous Kilgrave played by David Tennant and sidekick Trish Walker aka Hellcat played by Rachel Taylor. Carrie-Ann Moss also co-stars.

The show’s official twitter page posted the images on Thursday.

Colter’s Luke Cage will also be getting his own Netflix show alongside the already released Daredevil and upcoming series Iron Fist and Jessica Jones.

The three will interconnect and be part of the larger Marvel cinematic universe.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is executive produced by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and Liz Friedman, along with comic book writer Jeph Loeb, who also serves as Marvel’s head of television.

Earlier this month, Netflix and Marvel released the first official trailer.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is set to premiere on Netflix Nov. 20.
