LAKE HUME VILLAGE, Australia, Nov. 11 (UPI) — An Australian man fishing from a kayak in a New South Wales lake captured video of an unexpected aquatic mammal — a kangaroo.
Ayden Lillis posted a video to YouTube showing the swimming kangaroo he encountered late last month during an early morning fishing trip on Lake Hume.
Lillis theorized the kangaroo, which appeared to be having some trouble in the water, may have been chased into the lake by a wild dog.
The fisherman lamented he was unable to help the distressed ‘roo, but he said the animal appeared to make it safely to shore on its own.
