CHANGSA , China, Sept. 25 (UPI) — Four vehicles, including a bus and a truck, collided Friday in China’s Hunan province, killing 22 people and injuring 13 others, authorities said.
The bus collided with the truck, causing the other vehicles to crash into both. The bus then caught fire, a Hunan province official said.
The crash occurred on the east-west highway between Shanghai and Kunming, near the city of Changsa.
Officials planned to use DNA to identity of the victims. No names of victims have been released, and it was not clear what caused the crash.
Local authorities first reported 11 people were injured; China’s CCTV reported 13, suggesting the injury count will be revised upward.
