‘Frozen’ the musical begins performances in Denver

Aug. 18 (UPI) — Performances of Disney Theatrical’s new stage musical Frozen began Thursday night in Denver.

The out-of-town tryout at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts is scheduled to run through Oct. 1. It will start previews at New York’s St. James Theatre on Feb. 22, with its official Broadway opening slated for mid-March.

The show’s producers released a new video showing costumed cast members Caissie Levy [Elsa] and Patti Murin [Anna] with Jelani Alladin [Kristoff] and John Riddle [Hans] participating in a backstage shoot with photographer Andrew Eccles.

Tickets for Broadway performances are on sale now. The show is adapted from the 2013 movie musical by the same name.

A news release said the full-length stage work is told in two acts and “is the first and only incarnation of the tale that expands upon and deepens its indelible plot and themes through new songs and story material from the film’s creators.”
