George Clooney’s ‘Tomorrowland’ tops the North American box office with $32.2 million

LOS ANGELES, May 24 (UPI) — The science-fiction adventure Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson, is the No. 1 movie in North America, Rentrak announced Sunday.

The family-friendly film earned $32.2 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters since Friday.

Coming in at No. 2 is Pitch Perfect 2 with $30.3 million, Mad Max: Fury Road at No. 3 with $23.9 million, Poltergeist at No. 4 with $23 million and Avengers: Age of Ultron at No. 5 with $20.9 million

Rounding out the top tier are Hot Pursuit at No. 6 with $3.5 million, Far From the Madding Crowd at No. 7 with $2.3 million, Furious 7 at No. 8 with $2.1 million, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 at No. 9 with $1.8 million and Home at No. 10 with $1.7 million.
