FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., July 22 (UPI) — An Arkansas golfer’s drive went horribly wrong when the ball both failed to get any altitude and succeeded at striking a sea gull.
A video posted to YouTube by Jordan Wright of Fayetteville shows the golfer using his driver to strike the ball, which goes straight forward instead of up into the air.
The ball can be seen clearly colliding with a sea gull standing on the fairway. The golfer cringes and turns away.
The video’s title blamed the golfer for an “awful drive.”
The fate of the sea gull is unclear in the video, but the description does not offer much hope for the bird’s recovery.
“A very poor tee shot resulted in the untimely death of a poor seagull,” the description reads.
