LOS ANGELES, April 2 (UPI) — Starz has released a 15-second animated clip to tease its upcoming Ash vs. Evil Dead series.
Executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell — the original filmmakers of the franchise — and Craig DiGregorio, who will serve as showrunner, the half-hour show is set to premiere on the cable television network late this year.
Co-starring Lucy Lawless, Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo, the show is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise and will be shot in New Zealand. Raimi is directing the first episode.
Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, “the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead,” a synopsis said.
The teaser will premiere on-air during Saturday’s return of the period drama Outlander.
