Harrington takes 36-hole lead, then more rain in Florida

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Padraig Harrington has the lead going into Sunday at the Honda Classic. Thanks to rain that washed out the third round, it will still feel like Saturday.

Harrington found his form and finished off 12 holes in the second round Saturday morning for a 4-under 66 to take a one-shot lead over Patrick Reed.

It’s the first time in nearly five years that Harrington has had at least a share of the 36-hole lead on the PGA Tour. But that’s as far as he got the rest of the day.

More rain that pounded PGA National washed out the rest of play on Saturday. Only 24 players completed a hole. The third round will resume Sunday morning, making for a likely Monday finish.

Ian Poulter and Brendan Steele were two shots behind.
