ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 17 (UPI) — An unidentified Middle Eastern Country ordered multi-band multi-mission tactical radios from Harris Corporation, the company reports.
The order for high-bandwidth RF-7800H-MP Falcon III radios and RF-7850M-HH system were received and shipped during the company’s fourth quarter of 2015 and carry a combined value of $11 million.
“These radios support the customer’s operational requirements for simultaneous, secure voice and high-bandwidth data across a wide range of military missions,” said Brendan O’Connell, president, Tactical Communications, Harris Communication Systems. “Our continued investment in the Falcon portfolio, supported by our strong presence in the region, enables us to transition customers from legacy voice-dominated tactical radios to networked wideband tactical radios.”
The order RF-7800H-MP is a manpack radio, which delivers expanded data capabilities in long-range, beyond-line-of-sight environments. The RF-7850M-HH is a networking handheld radio, the first international radio to offer wideband communications and mobile, ad-hoc networking along with legacy narrowband waveforms.
The number of radios ordered and delivered was not disclosed.
