CLEVELAND (AP) — Miami star Dwyane Wade has limped to locker room with an apparent knee injury after going down in the second quarter against the Cavaliers.
Wade was driving on the right side of the lane when his right knee buckled and he dropped to the floor, awkwardly bending his left knee. As play continued at the other end, Wade stayed on his back. He got up slowly, walked gingerly to the bench and then favored his left leg as he went to the locker room.
Wade had fluid drained from his left knee on Saturday. He has also been dealing with a stomach bug and was a game-time decision against Cleveland.
Miami is battling for a playoff spot and can’t be without Wade, a three-time NBA champion. He has missed 19 games this season with a variety of ailments.
The Heat had no immediate word on his condition or status.
