LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20 (UPI) — Hilaria Baldwin received some heat after her husband, Alec, shared a thank you note to five caretakers via Instagram Wednesday.
After Baldwin’s original post — thanking “Lizzy, Sandra, Zena, Lisa and Avril” — rumors that the couple had five nannies sprang up in headlines.
In response, the yoga instructor and mother of two — Carmen and Rafael — posted a series of Instagram messages herself to explain the misunderstanding, saying she was “hurt” by the misconceptions.
“First I was offended because it makes me sound like a lazy mom…that hurts,” she wrote. “Especially because I spend so much time with my children that I barely sleep.”
In the name of transparency, Hilaria explained that “yes, we do have help…What led to all of this, was that my husband thanked nannies and babysitters who have worked with us.”
“He expressed gratitude and the media decided to take a negative spin,” she continued on her third post. “Not so fair. We have a family atmosphere at home.”
“We are so lucky to have wonderful people in our lives, both paid, and not paid, who love our children. So no. We do not have 5 nannies. Although I am about to have fun and make a list of all the things I would do if I actually had 5 nannies.”
On her final post, Baldwin then listed 49 names of friends and employees — it isn’t clear who is who — who have helped the couple with their two children. “We are so grateful,” she wrote.
After the posts, Baldwin shared two snap shots of her youngest child, Rafael, at the beach. Her husband also shared a photo of his wife with Carmen Wednesday, writing “These two would kiss each other all day!”
