Holocaust Remembrance Day to be honored with play readings

NEW YORK (AP) — Celebrities including Kathleen Turner and Ellen Burstyn will honor Holocaust Remembrance Day on Monday by reading plays that deal with that dark time in history.

The first ever Remembrance Readings program will connect numerous theater groups across the country, including The Old Globe in San Diego, The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago and the Untitled Theater Company #61 of Washington, D.C.

The plays to be read include “The History of Invulnerability” by David Bar Katz, “The Revisionist” by Jesse Eisenberg and “Our Class” by Tadeusz Slobodzianek, which will be read at The Temple Emanu-El Skirball Center in New York City by Turner and Burstyn.
