LOS ANGELES, Dec. 24 (UPI) — Hugh Jackman and Wolverine managed to steal some of Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool’s thunder Thursday.
The 47-year-old Australian actor shared a photo of himself as Wolverine with the 39-year-old Canadian star as Deadpool appearing to pole dance on his middle claw.
“No go @VancityReynolds – the 11th day is #Wolverine’s,” he wrote, referencing the Deadpool movie’s 12 Days of Deadpool countdown to a new trailer. Reynolds responded by tweeting, “Well, that’s just rude.”
Jackman included a link to a teaser for the forthcoming trailer, which will debut on Christmas Day. The preview sees Deadpool take on a variety of foes as he attempts to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend, Vanessa (Morena Baccarin).
The post excited fans hopeful for a Wolverine appearance in Deadpool, but no such cameo has been confirmed. Jackman will next play the mutant in Wolverine 3, which will likely be his last film as the character.
Deadpool opens in theaters Feb. 12, 2016. The movie follows Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, an unstable mercenary with accelerated healing powers, and co-stars Ed Skrein as Ajax, T.J. Miller as Weasel and Stefan Kapicic as Colossus.
