Indians’ Carrasco pitching perfect game thru 6 vs Rays

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Carlos Carrasco of the Cleveland Indians is pitching a perfect game through six innings against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Carrasco has struck out 10 Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. The Indians lead 5-0.

This is the third straight day an Indians starter has gone at least five perfect innings against Tampa Bay. Danny Salazar lost his bid in the sixth inning Tuesday night and rookie Cody Anderson had his opportunity end during the seventh Monday night.

Last Wednesday, Toronto’s Marco Estrada took a perfect game into the eighth inning against Tampa Bay.

Indians first baseman Carlos Santana made a nice play in the first inning, diving toward second base to snag Joey Butler’s grounder and then flipping the ball to Carrasco for the out at first.
