LOS ANGELES (AP) — J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company and “Infinity Blade” video game developer Chair Entertainment are collaborating on a colorful espionage game for PC and mobile devices titled “Spyjinx.”
The partnership came about because the “Star Wars” director and his children were fans of Chair’s side-scroller “Shadow Complex” and hack-and-slash “Infinity Blade” series, while the developers at Chair were admirers of Abrams’ film and TV projects.
Chair co-founder Donald Mustard says “Spyjinx” is set for release in 2016 and combines several different game types. He says players will create an elite team of agents while also building a secret lair in a world of thieves, assassins and con-artists.
The developer noted that despite Abrams’ commitment to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the filmmaker has been actively involved in the game’s development.
