LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 (UPI) — Married Oscar-winners Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are penning the music for Disney’s upcoming adaptation of the fairy tale “Jack and the Beanstalk.”
Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter announced Friday the Spain-set, animated movie Gigantic is set for release in 2018.
“We hope this will be the definitive version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ … with comedy and deep emotion,” director Nathan Greno told the media gathered at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The film follows Jack as he discovers a world of giants hidden in the sky and befriends one — an enormous, 11-year-old girl named Inma.
The Lopezes created the music for the Disney blockbuster Frozen.
