LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) — Jack Black stars in a new, international Goosebumps trailer.
The 46-year-old actor portrays a fictionalized version of author R.L. Stine, who wrote the Goosebumps book series. The preview sees the character and his daughter Hannah (Odeya Rush) team up with their neighbor Zach (Dylan Minnette) after the stories’ monsters come to life.
Goosebumps is directed by Rob Letterman (Monsters vs. Aliens), and opens in theaters Oct. 16. The movie co-stars Ryan Lee and Amy Ryan as Zach’s friend and mother, respectively, with additional roles by Halston Sage, Jillian Bell and Ken Marino.
The real-life R.L. Stine published 62 original Goosebumps books between 1992 and 1997. Rush is known for playing Fiona in Phillip Noyce’s adaptation of The Giver, while Minnette portrayed Kenny in the American version of Let Me In and Donnie Gil, aka Blizzard, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
