NASHVILLE, Aug. 8 (UPI) — Country singer Jake Owen and his wife Lacey Buchanan Owen have announced they are divorcing after three years of marriage.
The estranged couple have a 2 1/2-year-old daughter named Pearl. Buchanan Owen has appeared in the music videos for Owen’s songs “8 Second Ride” and “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.”
“I wanted to let my fans know how much I’ve appreciated their support of not only my career, but my family as a whole,” Owen said in a statement Friday. “Sadly, Lacey and I have decided to end our marriage. We want to focus on our daughter Pearl and make sure that she has a beautiful life with loving parents. We appreciate you respecting our privacy during this time.”
“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. We appreciate your support and privacy in this matter,” the musician later tweeted. “Mad and Sad are the same thing except one starts with an S and another with an M.”
