Paris (AFP) – NBA superstar James Harden met up with  ‘buddy’ Paul Pogba in Manchester to watch his match against Southampton before an Adidas marketing trip to Paris.

Harden posted pictures of him meeting up with Pogba at Old Trafford with the new Manchester United recruit signing his jersey.

“Pogba is one of my guys. He is a great football player. Yesterday has been an amazing experience for me. Going to the Manchester game, watching Pogba, watching Zlatan, just.. I had a great time.”

The basketball superstar is a huge football fan and said that he enjoys playing popular video game FIFA.

“I play FIFA everyday, everyday. If I am not on a basketball court, I’m playing FIFA. I am very good”

After his stay in the north of England, Harden moved on to Paris where he was looking for inspiration to design his new Adidas shoe.

The Houston Rockets shooting guard was quizzed about fellow NBA star Tony Parker who had taken his international retirement after France were knocked out of the Olympics basketball quarter-final by Spain.

Harden believes Parker has left the sport as an all time great.

“Legend, man… Definitely, I’m a big fan of TP… he has done so much for the game of basketball”

The Americans lead the world at basketball and are on course to win their third consecutive gold at the Olympics in Brazil.

Harden, a gold medal winner in 2012, says that competition from other countries is getting better and that Team USA need to be wary of opponents.

“It’s not always gonna be easy wins or blow out games as every one expects so.. Team USA is doing very well. hopefully, they can bring it home. All I can say is that other countries got a lot better, more talent”.
