James Woods survives seven-car accident in Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 16 (UPI) — James Wood survived a scary seven car crash on an icy Colorado highway and detailed the incident on Twitter.

The 68-year-old actor of Casino and Once Upon a Time in America fame said that as he was driving through the Rockies in Glenwood Springs, Colo., a driver spun out doing 75 mph.

“I hit right wall to avoid him, spun 180, hit left wall sliding backwards going 60 mph,” he tweeted. “Huge drop 100 feet into river below, but the guardrail held. I managed to pull out and slide down out of oncoming traffic. Six car pileup.”

Woods added, “I slid below it. No deaths. Banged up. Car wrecked. Good to be alive. Glad everybody survived.”

The actor, who has made headlines in the past for his posts on Twitter, said that he suffered a “little concussion” and said his Jeep protected him. He also tweeted about the help he received from the authorities and tow truck drivers, “I tell you one thing, I admire the fire and police personnel and tow truck drivers out there in storms on dangerous roads. God bless them.”

The Ray Donovan actor also thanked his fans, “It is very to me moving that you are all so caring. I’m doing great and plan to regroup tomorrow, but I’m deeply grateful for all of you.”
