Jason Pierre-Paul is set to make his season debut for the New York Giants against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, four months after he lost an index finger in a fireworks accident.
The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end is active for Sunday’s game after practicing all week. He played his last game for the Giants in December 2014, and had nine sacks over the last five games. The Giants (4-4) need a win over the Buccaneers (3-4) to stay atop the NFC East standings.
At Indianapolis, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is active after being questionable to play for the Colts (3-5) against the Broncos (7-0). Hilton missed practices all week because of a foot injury, but Andrew Luck has his top target available for the team’s first game under new offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.
Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman, who was questionable after being a limited participant at practice on Thursday and Friday, is active.
At San Francisco, the 49ers (2-6) face Atlanta (6-2) without starting cornerbacks Kenneth Acker (concussion/chest), Tramaine Brock (shin) and Keith Reaser.
QB Blaine Gabbert makes his first start since replacing Colin Kaepernick, but won’t have running back Carlos Hyde (foot) and wideout Anquan Boldin (hamstring).
