WASHINGTON, June 16 (UPI) — The coders who set up the website for GOP presidential nominee hopeful Jeb Bush included a synopsis of the Die Hard franchise in the source coding.
Jeremy Bowers, an eagle-eyed New York Times Interactive web developer, spotted the several-paragraph plot spoiler Tuesday afternoon and quickly tweeted a photo of the Jeb2016.com Javascript before it was taken down.
In what could be the biggest plot twist ever, Jeb’s version of Die Hard stars Severus Snape of Harry Potter fame.
Seems like an odd thing to include in the JS of your presidential announcement page. https://t.co/bA8DeSzeyk pic.twitter.com/vwfUbBLt0M— Jeremy Bowers (@jeremybowers) June 15, 2015
Already this election cycle has become a goldmine for techno-types. The source code used in Democratic nominee hopeful Hillary Clinton’s site features an ASCII-art version of her campaign logo.
