LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) — Jessica Simpson raised concern with a bizarre live TV appearance Thursday.
Fans accused the 35-year-old designer of being under some sort of influence after she displayed strange behavior while promoting her 10th Anniversary Collection on the Home Shopping Network.
Simpson was all smiles as she showed off the clothing line, but slurred her words as she rambled on about the pieces. She also appeared to be slightly swaying in place as she described the products.
“Ashlee is like, the best at wearing grey,” she said of sister Ashlee Simpson. “Like, she’s very rock and roll, but there’s something about a grey that’s like, sexy. Maybe it’s her husband that share[s] jeans, I have no idea.”
Simpson had tweeted about the gig ahead of her appearance, writing, “So excited for my @JSCollection debut on @HSN TONIGHT at 9PM ET!” She was on the air for two hours, and reportedly sold out of most of her merchandise.
Simpson announced her return to the music industry last week, having last released the holiday album Happy Christmas in 2010. She will continue to oversee her billion-dollar fashion empire, and debut activewear line The Warm Up in October.
