AUSTIN, Texas, March 18 (UPI) — Jimmy Kimmel has made good on his offer to help a local business during the annual South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.
The late-night talk show host recently teamed up with Texas native Matthew McConaughey to film three television commercials for Vulcan Video, an Austin video store that sells VHS tapes and DVDs.
In a segment that aired Monday, store owners Byran and Kristen show off their store inventory, which includes sections devoted to “Canadian TV” and “Asian horror.”
“I think we have to show people what’s so special about this video store other than the fact that it still exists,” Kimmel says.
Then Kimmel and McConaughey show off their three commercials, in which they advocate passionately for the old-school store.
“Quit scrollin’. Stop streamin’. Start dreamin’ about VHS!” McConaughey says.
