Joakim Noah: Chicago Bulls teammate says center doesn’t “trust” front office, leaving team

CHICAGO, May 25 (UPI) — While his college coach is one win away from advancing to the NBA Finals, a frustrated Joakim Noah sits at home.

But he could be hiring a moving truck soon.

“Noah has been telling teammates in recent weeks that he was done with the organization once free agency begins, and “has no trust in the front office getting this in the right direction,” according to a Bulls player,” Joe Cowley wrote in the Chicago Sun Times.

Cowley also reported that several players seem to “mistrust” Bulls GM Gar Forman, including Noah.

Under former coach Tom Thibodeau, players allegedly bought into an idea that it was “us against them (front office),” Cowley reported.

The rift is apparently so bad that the normally charitable Noah, has allegedly turned down opportunities to work with some of the team’s associated charities, according to Cowley.

Noah, 31, had averaged 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in 29 games before being shut down after a shoulder injury.

Earlier this month, the Chicago Tribune reported that the team would try to re-sign Noah this summer.

Noah earned $13.4 million in 2015. The No. 9 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft has played nine-seasons with the Bulls. In those nine seasons, Noah has averaged 9.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. This season he started just two games.
