LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 (UPI) — Joe Manganiello celebrated his 39th birthday Monday.
The True Blood actor’s wife, 43-year-old actress Sofia Vergara, marked the occasion by sharing a photo of herself with Manganiello on Instagram.
“Happy bday to the husband I always dreamed of @joemanganiello,” she captioned a picture of the pair dancing at their wedding. Manganiello responded to the sweet message by tweeting, “Te amo,” which means “I love you” in Spanish.
Manganiello’s birthday came just over a month after he and Vergara married in Palm Beach, Fla. The actress revealed they tied the knot in front of 400 “family [members] and closest friends” in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this month.
“[It] was like a dream, like a fairy tale,” she gushed of the ceremony. “Like, it came out perfectly like how I wanted. I have to say, the people that were helping me do the wedding [were] amazing! I knew what I wanted.”
Manganiello and Vergara have been together since mid-2014. The actor told People magazine Vergara was his celebrity crush before they started dating, and later joked to Ryan Seacrest, “She thought I was crazy for having said that out loud … but you know, I guess it worked.”
Manganiello is known for playing Alcide Herveaux on HBO series True Blood, and will next appear in Knight of Cups with Christian Bale. Vergara portrays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC sitcom Modern Family, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
