LOS ANGELES, March 11 (UPI) — True Blood alum Joe Manganiello says he has been sober for 12 1/2 years after giving up alcohol.
The actor, who is engaged to Modern Family siren Sofia Vergara, spoke to Us Weekly about his sobriety before a screening of the documentary The Resurrection of Jake the Snake, which is about the professional wrestler’s own battle with addiction.
“Of course, sobriety is something near and dear to me,” Manganiello said. “Twelve-and-a-half years sober. So, obviously this is something very close to my heart.”
The actor will soon be seen in the big-screen stripper sequel Magic Mike XXL.
