LOS ANGELES, April 24 (UPI) — Johnny Depp stars as Whitey Bulger in a first trailer for Black Mass.
The preview sees the 51-year-old actor menace David Harbour’s character after he reveals a secret family recipe. The tense scene plays on Bulger being a real-life gangster-turned-informant, and is shown alongside glimpses of the criminal’s violence.
Black Mass is based on the Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill book of the same name, and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart). The all-star cast also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Joel Edgerton, Jesse Plemons, Sienna Miller and Dakota Johnson.
