Oct. 18 (UPI) — Johnny Depp has filed a lawsuit against his former lawyers for allegedly conspiring with his former financial manager to steal more than $30 million.

In the complaint filed Tuesday, Depp alleged that powerful entertainment law firm Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal & LaViolette, committed “professional malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and unjust enrichment” while also engaging in “misconduct for their own financial benefit and violated some of the most basic tenets of the attorney-client relationship.”

“Johnny Depp’s lawsuit filed today reflects his continued stand against systemic, self-serving Hollywood practices that he hopes this lawsuit will expose and end,” Depp’s lawyer, Adam Waldman, told PEOPLE.

Depp’s lawsuit accuses the law firm of working with his former financial management firm, The Management Group, to take out loans the actor didn’t know about and using his residual payments from past films to pay them off, reported TMZ.

In February, Depp filed a $25 million lawsuit against The Management Group that is ongoing.
