Jon Rudnitsky joins the cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’

NEW YORK, Aug. 31 (UPI) — Jon Rudnitsky is joining the ensemble of Saturday Night Live as a featured player for the New York-based, sketch-comedy series’ 41st season.

NBC announced the casting of the 25-year-old, standup comedian Monday.

The show is to return with fresh episodes Oct. 3. Singer and actress Miley Cyrus — fresh off her stint as MTV Video Music Awards show emcee — is to serve as guest host for the SNL Season 41 premiere.

SNL’s current lineup includes Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Leslie Jones, Colin Jost, Taran Killam, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, Bobby Moynihan, Jay Pharoah, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson and Sasheer Zamata.
