AUGUSTA, Ga., April 13 (UPI) — Sorry, ladies… Jordan Spieth has a girlfriend.
The 21-year-old professional golfer won the 2015 Masters Tournament by a four-stroke lead over Phil Michelson and Justin Rose on Sunday, sparking admiration and intense speculation over his relationship status from his female fan base on Twitter.
Scores of women took to the social media site to express their interest in Spieth, but were disappointed to learn the golfer has a longtime girlfriend, Annie Verret, whom he embraced and kissed to celebrate his win at Augusta National Golf Club.
Spieth and Verret are high school sweethearts who grew up and currently live in Dallas, Texas. Verret graduated from Texas Tech in December, while Spieth attended the University of Texas at Austin before turning pro at age 19 in 2012.
