WASHINGTON, April 27 (UPI) — Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes on the U.S. government in the latest trailer for the Open Road Films thriller, Snowden.
Directed by Oliver Stone, the film follows a dramatized story of infamous whistleblower Edward Snowden’s life before, during and after his revelation of the National Security Agency’s secret surveillance.
The trailer follows Snowden’s life as he climbed through the ranks through the NSA and thus unearthed its alleged breeches of citizen privacy.
Levitt stars alongside Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Nicolas Cage, Scott Eastwood, and Tom Wilkinson, in Snowden, expected to bow in theaters Sept. 16. Director Stone is an Academy Award-winning filmmaker and has previously led such films as Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, Wall Street and JFK.
