Kaitlyn Bristowe chosen as season 11 ‘Bachelorette’

LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) — Kaitlyn Bristowe will star on season 11 of {i:The Bachelorette}.

The 29-year-old dance instructor was chosen over 27-year-old waitress Britt Nilsson by the ABC reality competition’s 24 male contestants. Bristowe was announced as the Bachelorette on part two of the season 11 premiere Tuesday.

“I just really felt like I met a lot of really amazing people.” a stunned Nilsson {link:told host: “http://abc.go.com/shows/the-bachelorette/video/most-recent/VDKA0_av23piyo”,nw} Chris Harrison after he broke the news. “It felt really right. I’m just very surprised. I really wanted it. I still appreciate being allowed to be part of this.”

Singer Brady Toops voluntarily left the show after confessing he voted for Nilsson before Bristowe eliminated Bradley Cox, Josh Seiter, Shawn Evans and David. The Bachelorette is left with 19 suitors in light of Ryan McDill’s {link:dismissal for drunken behavior: “http://www.upi.com/Entertainment_News/2015/05/19/Nikki-Ferrells-ex-appears-drunk-on-The-Bachelorette/8221432066625/”,nw} Monday.

New episodes will air Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
