Kandi Burruss gives birth to ‘perfect’ baby boy

ATLANTA, Jan. 6 (UPI) — Kandi Burruss and husband Todd Tucker have welcomed their first child.

The 39-year-old reality star confirmed the news in a statement to People, saying she gave birth to a “bouncing baby boy” Wednesday morning. “Todd and I have been waiting so long for his delivery and he is so very perfect,” the proud mom added.

Tucker had shared a photo of himself with Burruss ahead of their son’s birth, writing, “Getting ready for Baby Tucker 1.6.16! I can’t wait to meet my little man!” The couple married in April 2014, and announced they were expecting in July.

Burruss is already mother to 13-year-old daughter Riley, while Tucker is dad to 19-year-old daughter Kaela. The reality star struggled with fertility issues before conceiving her son, and previously called her pregnancy a “blessing for a new beginning.”

“If you follow [Real Housewives of Atlanta] you know that Todd and I went over a lot of hurdles to conceive,” the star told Us Weekly after announcing her pregnancy. “Our family could now be complete with the addition of our baby love.”

Burruss joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in Season 2, and returned for Season 8 in November. The series airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, and co-stars Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and Kim Fields.
