KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 4 (UPI) — Don’t forget to pickup your free breakfast Thursday at Taco Bell, courtesy of Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain.
Cain stole second base in the sixth inning of Game 1 on Oct. 27. Taco Bell promised one free A.M. Crunchwrap for everyone on Nov. 5 if any player stole a base in Game 1 or Game 2 of the World Series. The Royals, of course, edged the New York Mets 4-1 to win the series.
The promotion is from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.
The Royals mentioned the tasty reward on Oct. 28 on its Twitter feed. “A reward for watching the longest Game 1 ever? Free @tacobell breakfast on Nov. 5!,” the Royals tweeted.
The Royals ranked No. 5 in the MLB this season with 104 stolen bases while the Mets ranked No. 29.
“In Game 1 of the World Series, Lorenzo Cain stole a base,” Taco Bell said on its website. “But really, he stole breakfast for all of America. Score your free A.M. Crunchwrap® tomorrow, November 5th, between 7-11 a.m. in store. Or skip the line by ordering online.”
Cain, 29, hit .227 with a double, four RBI and four stolen bases in the World Series.
