WERNERSVILLE, Pa., Dec. 8 (UPI) — Kate Gosselin says dating after divorce is an interesting experience.
The 40-year-old reality star opened up about her personal life in an interview with E! News published Monday. Gosselin and ex-husband Jon Gosselin were married over 10 years before divorcing in December 2009.
“It’s a completely different world, and I’m sure that every single parent who finds themselves eventually dating again would also agree that it is just weird and exciting but strange,” she shared.
“I’ll tell you what’s even stranger — I have 15-year-olds who are on the very verge of beginning to date, and I now find myself beginning to date,” she added. “I think [Jon and I] are in a really good place. The kids are doing well and they’re thriving.”
Gosselin and her ex-husband are parents to 15-year-old twins Cara and Madelyn and 11-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah. A preview for Tuesday’s episode of Kate Plus 8 sees a “horrified” Gosselin react to her teenage daughters talking to boys.
“That moment is etched in my mind forever, because I was like, ‘No! This is not okay with me,’” the reality star said. “Mady was flirting, and I don’t think she realized it. These are the very first moments of probably many more to come.”
Gosselin was linked to Jeff Prescott earlier this year, but denied she and the businessman ever dated in September. She and her children will return for a new season of Kate Plus 8 on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
