LOS ANGELES, Nov. 23 (UPI) — Goldie Hawn celebrated her 70th birthday with daughter Kate Hudson on Saturday.
The First Wives Club star was fêted with cupcakes and colorful decorations during a private plane ride, as seen in a video Hudson shared on Instagram. The 36-year-old actress also posted a sweet poem dedicated to her mom to mark the occasion.
“On this day in the clouds I’m sure//A man had a plan for the twenty first//He took a sweet soul and said its time my dear//You must go back down to share your cheer//Your beauty will please//Your laughter will spread//You may even meet a man and be thirty years unwed,” the poem began.
Hudson is the younger child of Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, and sister to actor Oliver Hudson. She considers Hawn’s longtime partner, Kurt Russell, to be her father, although Oliver Hudson recently reconnected with their estranged father.
“There’s something about [her],” the actress told Closer Weekly of her mom last year. “She’s very strong-minded, very tough and can be strict, but she’s also so forgiving and non-judgmental. [Her best advice] would probably be don’t take yourself so seriously!”
Hudson herself is mother to 11-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson and 4-year-old son Bingham with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy. The actress discussed single life in the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and will next voice Mei Mei in Kung Fu Panda 3.
