NEW YORK, Aug. 24 (UPI) — Singer Kelis publicly debuted her new baby bump while performing at the Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn, New York Saturday.
Multiple sources have confirmed with E! News that Kelis is pregnant and expecting her second child.
“She is really excited about her pregnancy,” an insider shared with E! News. “She has a great support system from her family and friends. She is in really amazing spirits.”
Fan speculation about a possible pregnancy took place on social media after the Milkshake singer performed on stage wearing a bright pink sheer dress.
While performing in the 80 degree New York heat, Kelis mentioned off stage afterwards, “I need a fan…I’m hot and pregnant.” according to TheYBF.
Whether or not the pregnancy will affect future performances a source mentioned to E! News that “She had a great time at Afropunk this weekend and will continue to perform as long as she feels good.” Another source added, “She is several months along and feeling great.”
Back in 2009, Kelis welcomed her first child, Knight with ex-husband rapper Nasir ‘Nas’ Jones.
Currently, Kelis is set to release a cook book that chronicles her life and career entitled My Life on a Plate: Recipes From Around the World due Sept. 28.
