Ken Griffey Jr.’s son scores 95-yard touchdown

TUCSON, Nov. 22 (UPI) — Arizona’s Trey Griffey didn’t need much cash this year for his dad’s birthday gift.

Griffey, son of Ken Griffey Jr., erupted for a 95-yard touchdown in the Wildcats’ 52-37 loss Saturday to Arizona State.

Nov. 21 was Ken Griffey Jr.’s 46th birthday.

The junior wide receiver had two catches for 138 yards. On the play, Griffey caught the ball deep in his team’s territory, before streaking down the left flank and bolting through midfield, where he changed direction and went the distance.

This year is Ken Griffey Jr.’s first year of Hall of Fame eligibility.

Griffey has nine receptions for 220 yards and a touchdown in six games this season.
