Ken Loach's 'I, Daniel Blake' wins top prize at Cannes Film Festival

CANNES , France, May 22 (UPI) — Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake won the Palm D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival Sunday.

It’s Only the End of the World by Xavier Dolan earned the Grand Prix, while Cristian Mungiu shared the Best Director statuette he won for Graduation with Personal Shopper filmmaker Olivier Assayas.

Asghar Farhadi took home the Best Screenplay award for The Salesman, which earned as well the Best Actor title for its leading man Shahab Hosseini.

American Honey picked up the Jury Prize and Jaclyn Jose scored the Best Actress accolade for Ma’Rosa.
