Kesha performs with new band The Yeast Infection amid legal battle

NASHVILLE, Dec. 30 (UPI) — Kesha continues to bring music to her fans despite her ongoing legal battle with label boss and producer Dr. Luke.

Kesha moved forward with a lawsuit in 2014 against Dr. Luke for sexually, physically and verbally abusing her over a period of 10 years. In October, Kesha asked a judge for an injunction in her case so that she could start recording new music again without the producer’s involvement.

Kesha took matters into her own hands when she returned to the stage in Nashville on Dec. 23 to perform with all-male band, The Yeast Infection.

The secret concert, which took place at the Spring Water Lounge, featured the pop star and her new bandmates performing trippy, alternative versions of her hits “Blow,” “Timber” and a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”

“HAPPY HOLLERDAYZ from Y E A S T I N F E C T I O N!!! I love all of my ANIMALS!!! Thanks for all of the support this year!!!….Don’t worry NO ONE will ever shut me up,” the 28-year-old wrote on Facebook Friday alongside a video of the gig.

In a similar post on Instagram, Kesha continued her vow to keep fighting, stating “No matter what, no one will ever stop me from making noise. Never let anyone take ur happiness. that’s the only way they beat u. Never let them win. Love u all. Merry merry.”

Dr. Luke has previously denied the allegations of abuse and has filed his own suit against Kesha for extortion alleging that the lawsuit is an attempt to get out of her contract with his Kemosabe Records label.
