LOS ANGELES, March 30 (UPI) — Laura Marano has landed a record deal with Big Machine Records.
The 19-year-old actress {link:announced: “https://twitter.com/lauramarano/status/581985893650595841″,nw} the news Saturday on Twitter, writing, “I am more than THRILLED to share I am the first pop artist signed to @BigMachine!! @scottborchetta @DLNUmusic @YAY!!!! Woo HOO.”
Big Machine Records is based in Nashville and specializes in country music artists. Singer Taylor Swift is signed to the label, in addition to Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and the Zac Brown Band. Marano also shared a photo of herself with label Sr. Vice President of A&R Allison B. Jones.

Marano came to fame as Kate Malone on CBS police drama {i:Without a Trace}, and subsequently portrayed Gracie Carr on Fox sitcom {i:Back to You}.
