LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28 (UPI) — Leonard Nimoy’s son will guest star on The Big Bang Theory next week.
Adam Nimoy, a 59-year-old television director, will appear as himself on the CBS comedy’s Thursday, Nov. 5 episode. “The Spock Resonance” will see Adam interview Sheldon (Jim Parsons) for a documentary on the late Star Trek actor.
“While being interviewed, Sheldon struggles to suppress his emotions about his recent breakup with Amy, despite his overwhelming excitement for the sci-fi subject matter,” the network announced Monday.
Frequent guest star Wil Wheaton, who played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, is also slated for the episode. The actor portrays a fictionalized version of himself on the show known for antagonizing Sheldon.
Adam Nimoy is son to Nimoy and late actress Sandra Zober, and brother to Julie Nimoy. Leonard Nimoy was best known for playing Spock on Star Trek, and died of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at age 83 in February.
