Lester has no-hitter vs Braves thru 6 after scoring change

ATLANTA (AP) — Jon Lester of the Chicago Cubs is pitching a no-hitter through six innings against Atlanta, helped by a reversed call from the official scorer.

Nick Markakis was originally given an infield hit Saturday night on a first-inning grounder past Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant. The scorer changed the call in the top of the seventh, charging Bryant with an error.

Bryant reached toward the line but couldn’t field the grounder.

The only other baserunners allowed by Lester came in the second inning, when he hit A.J. Pierzynski with a pitch, and in the fifth, when he walked Juan Uribe.

Lester took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning earlier this month against St. Louis. Jhonny Peralta broke it up with a one-out single on a hard grounder that deflected off Bryant.
