BLACKSOIL, Australia, Dec. 2 (UPI) — A mother and son driving through a storm in Australia captured video of a lightning close call that took out a light and threw sparks onto the road.
Debbie McCourt and her son, Riley, were driving Sunday on Warrego Highway in Blacksoil when a bolt of lightning struck near their car.
The lightning collided with a pole, causing the light to burst and throw sparks onto the roadway.
Four men were struck by lightning during the storms Sunday in Queensland, but all evaded serious injury.
