LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (UPI) — Rules Don’t Apply stars Lily Collins and Alden Ehrenreich dazzled on the red carpet Thursday.

The 27-year-old actress and 26-year-old actor attended the movie’s AFI Fest premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.

Collins stunned in a sheer, sleeveless gown with lace panels and intricate metallic beading, while Ehrenreich looked dapper in a navy pinstriped suit and patterned tie.

Co-stars Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Matthew Broderick and Haley Bennett also attended the event. The movie, which Beatty wrote, produced and directed, also features Alec Baldwin, Steve Coogan and Martin Sheen.

Rules Don’t Apply follows Marla (Collins), an aspiring actress, and Frank (Ehrenreich), Marla’s driver and an ambitious businessman. The pair fall for each other in Hollywood in 1958, but are forbidden to date by their employer, Howard Hughes (Beatty).

“Marla is an extremely optimistic, passionate young woman who comes to Hollywood thinking she knows it all,” Collins told Variety last week. “She thinks she has a certain set of rules to be successful. Through her trials and tribulations here, she realizes it isn’t all what it seems.”

“I didn’t know [Hughes] was so forward-thinking — or how political he was, or how vast his influence was [before the film],” she added. “He’s an enigma, but at the same time he was so present in many facets of different industries.”

Rules Don’t Apply opens in theaters Nov. 23. Collins will also star in Okja with Tilda Swinton and To the Bone with Keanu Reeves, while Ehrenreich is slated to play a young Han Solo in a Star Wars spinoff.
